Hello & welcome to The Craft House!!
Today I’m going to share a project that was very impromptu when I first made it.
It so happened that I was at my sister’s place and there I needed to gift silver coins to someone and this meeting and gifting wasn’t planned. I had none my ready boxes or even their templates ready with me so I could build new ones.
But as they say, necessity is the mother of invention. I sat down with few card stock sheets, ribbons & paper knife and this is what I came up with. (oh yes, there were few embellishments, stamps and ink pads too, not to mention, adhesive 😜)
Hope you all like this one…

So, the last 30 days of mine were quite occupying; and why not. I had a big project to work on. Bandanwaar (or Toran, as few may call it).
It is a decorative piece of art that we usually put up on the main entrance doors of our houses. However, it being a decorating element, you can hang it anywhere you like and it suits…
This one that I made is a Made-to-Order piece and therefore is a little different from regular bandanwaars. Generally these are rope or fabric based, some are wooden based too. They showcase on them lot of mirror work, mini bells, pearls and rhinestones, etc. What’s common in all designs is an image or sketch of Lord Ganesha – deity of prosperity and well being; and two words – Shubh (meaning auspicious) and Laabh (meaning benefit or gain).
Here, the one that I’ve made is slightly off the traditional lines of style. The base material used is mount board rather than fabric, rope or wood and the decoration is very much in paper. However, the auspicious touches of Shubh-Laabh and Ganesha image have been included.
Hope you like this project; and if you try making one of your own, do share the images and experience.
I am happy as well as not-so-happy saying that I am taking a break from crafting and posting about it. Its going to be a long one as I am embarking on a new journey in life…and this new beginning is going to take a lot of me from me..but hey! This is what I’ve been waiting for 🙂
So see you guys in the year to come and sending along a bouquet of good wishes for you all…
This year is about to end, and in these ending hours the best thing to do is to look back at all the memories we created in the past days. The time spent with our family and dear ones, the celebrations and also the teary moments (everyone might have had one or two…i guess).
The good memories bring us smiles and laughter and not-so-good ones bring along some lessons and experiences… So lets look back and preserve the best ones, so that we may re-live them forever (figuratively).
Lets save our memories…in these super cute photo frames 😛
It just clicked..how about if we gift someone a house?? :P:P:P
